Auxesys Presents: Circle One
The Future of Work and Leadership
With everything going on, we’ve decided to launch a live-stream talk show, targeted at our current and prospective clients and independent contractors. More broadly, the show is also targeted at anyone who is interested in discussing the evolution of the working world.
My personal thesis, and the hunch that Auxesys was founded upon, is that professional life and working arrangements are in desperate need of being re imagined. Rather than scrapping the whole project of career, work, and professional life (i.e. starting at square one), I believe that we should instead save some of the best bits, but simply re-imagine the “shape”.
Auxesys is a professional services firm that helps clients with systems integration, and we do so using a unique, distributed independent contractor model. We’ve seen other takes on the “gig economy”, and we’ve set ourselves up in direct contradiction to the “race to the bottom” that other professional gig platforms promote. We believe strongly in the true value of expertise, talent, and professionalism.
Auxesys is also a bet that the future of work will include more people being their own boss, setting their own hours, choosing their own projects, and working from wherever they please. The current environment seems to have expedited the timeline over which we had predicted this shift to occur, and so, we’d like to chat about it.
The theme of the show is “professional life and leadership in the modern era”. The objective is to share as much helpful wisdom, insight, a perspective as we possibly can.
Each week we will have a rolling cast of panelists, with myself serving as a moderator of sorts. We intend to pre select the week’s panel, five days in advance, and provide each panel member with the opportunity to help select topics prior to the upcoming Friday’s live show. If you’re interested in being a panelist, or know someone who would make a good fit, please reach out!
We launched our first episode last week, and although the show is a serious “work in progress”, we invite you to check it out below:
